Center of Excellence
on Smart Health
SPARK (Social and Personal Adaptive Response Kit) is an innovative AI-powered platform designed to enhance child development through real-time behavior monitoring and adaptive learning. Developed through a collaboration between KAUST and the Family and Child Support Center (FCSC), SPARK integrates advanced wearable sensors and artificial intelligence to help children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions improve social interactions, communication skills, and attention span.
SPARK goes beyond traditional therapy, providing real-time feedback and personalized interventions to help children navigate their social environment with confidence.

At the heart of SPARK is FARAH (Feature-driven Adaptive Reinforcement for Autism Healthy Habits), an AI-powered chatbot and reinforcement learning agent designed to assist children with ASD in developing social skills, breaking repetitive behavior cycles, and improving communication.
